Gianluca Luisi J.S. BACH French Suites BWV 812 - 817

Critics from around the world (Postdate Nachrichten , Fanfare, New York at Carnegie Hall Concert reviews) consider Gianluca Luisi one of the most interesting Italian pianists of our time. His performances have received enthusiastic acclaim in many areas of the world.
In Italy, he graduated with honors from the Conservatory of Pesaro; studied at the Incontri col Maestro International Academy in Imola and with Aldo Ciccolini in Naples and Paris.
A winner of numerous competitions (TIM International Competition Bellini of Caltanissetta , Rendano Prize , Competition of Cesenatico, Italian Music Youth Auditions, International Competition of Sulmona) Gianluca received the first prize of the 4th International J.S. Bach competition in Saarbrucken - Würzburg, in March of 2001. He was selected among 54 pianists from 26 different countries while the critics heralded him as a new interpreter of J.S. Bach. On that occasion the Saarbrucken Zeitung declared: "The Italian won the first prize here. Well deserved […] because the young man is a great interpreter of Bach […] He produces music absolutely free . What more do you want?”

Duo Cammarano-Deljavan GRIEG Violin Sonatas

The 3 Violin Sonatas by Edvard Grieg are a mixture of German and Austrian traditions with the Nordic folk. The experience at the Leipzig Conservatory, where the strong influence of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Robert Schumann was felt, and the trips to Italy, especially Rome, where Grieg met Franz Liszt, contributed greatly to the formation of the style of the Norwegian composer. Similarly of crucial importance were the years he spent in Copenhagen where he completed his studies under the guidance of the Danish composer Niels W. Gade.
The complete Sonatas for violin and piano are included in this album signed by the well-matched duo Cammarano-Deljavan.
"Cammarano and Deljavan have a very different vision. They offer Grieg on a grand scale. This is passionate music, played aggressively. They bring these sonatas into the world of Grieg’s String Quartet, with brooding, double-stopped romanticism." (Richard Kraus, Music-web International)
"Commendable, thoughtful readings, rising to the various challenges of the fast movements and responding well to the abundant lyricism in the slower ones. Their characterisation [and] expansive expressive range are especially admirable." (Robin Stowell, The Strad)

Giovanni Mazzocchin J.S. BACH Goldberg Variations BWV 988

The Goldberg Variations, BWV 988, are probably the main work (or at least the most renowned) of Johann Sebastian Bach. They are often played at the piano and the harpsichord, but also on the organ, or with chamber music ensemble (Quartets, Trios). First published in 1741, this monumental composition, consisting of an aria and a set of 30 variations, are named after Johann Gottlieb Goldberg, to whom they are dedicated, and who was probably the first performer. After a statement of the aria at the beginning, there are thirty variations that do not follow the melody, but its bass line.
Giovanni Mazzocchin (who recently recorded Beethoven's 5 late Sonatas for OnClassical, plays this (not easy) work with all repetitions and no pedal (!). On the repetitions he does improvisations as were typical during that epoch.
Giovanni Mazzocchin is born in Bassano del Grappa in 1994. He studied at the Conservatory 'Arrigo Pedrollo' in Vicenza under the guidance of Marco Tezza.
During the years of conservatory he also attended masterclasses with some notable pianists such as Carlo Grante, Alexander Madzar and Filippo Gamba.
He degreed in 2012 with high degrees, honor and special mention.
Giovanni is now student at the University of the Padua in the faculty of Computer Science, and he combines the study with the musical interest.
He is as an OnClassical artist since November 2015. A first collaboration with the label includes the recording of the late sonatas by Ludwig van Beethoven, Opus 101 & 106 (Hammerklavier) and Opus 109, 110, 111, and the Bach's Goldberg Variations.
